It is 11:56 am on January 23, 2010 AD. I am not the Jollyblogger. Once again I join my father's readers to update everyone on the...surprise my family had this morning. Yes, I am the Jollette. I have been absent from this blog for too long, and the news I have to bring is not very encouraging.
This morning while getting ready to go to work, I hear my dad call my mothers name. She comes to him. I then go down to finish the dishes that I started last night but regretfully didn't finish. My mom comes in and looks at me and says "Rebekah Joy, there's an ambulance on their way to get daddy. I need your help." Woah little darlin'. An amblulance?! Yep.
The long and short of it is this: my dad started a new chemo regimen last Monday. He's having all sorts of horrible reactions to it. It's not pretty, and you know my dad, he's very pretty. Anyway, so today he was not feeling well and so he took this new pill that he's never had before and before we knew it, he needed an ambulance. He said that he felt as if he was going to throw up, and sweaty and clammy and a few other oddities I can't remember.
The ambulance came. The talked to him, checked his symptoms, gave him oxygen and got him off to the hospital. My mom says that he'll be ok, and she thinks it just a side effect from the new meds he took. Now my mom is off to see him at the hospital and she's taking his favorite Gator blanket with her. For those who live in our area, they took him to the Baltimore-Washington hospital in Glen Burnie.
Just...keep praying.
Sincerely yours,
Jollette
We will. Come on David, hang in there.

I knew David in high school, and he was always a leader and positive influence to all who knew him. Just reading your post made me feel a sense of that leadership and strength in his daughter. I am touched by your courage and ability to write about difficult circumstances. Blessings and peace to you and your family.

I'm not sure what to say, other than I love you all, and you are in my prayers. I don't get to read the updates all the time, but I did catch some last week, found Sermon cloud, and heard one of Davids sermons. I appreciate the book sugestions and the toughtful comments on the theories they present. I wish I had some answers, maybe sound profound, but I'm humbled by what I see in your posts, and those of the other respondents. I hope you know that you make a difference, and that your message is even more far reaching in the elegant way you are handling these trials. Ya'll are wonderful,I love you.

I know what it's like to watch your dad get hauled off in an ambulance. I'm praying for you all.

David and family,
Our editorial department here at Walk Thru the Bible continues to pray for you. We know you because of your writing for Stand Firm devotional magazine. After a gruesome battle my own brother is now a four year survivor of a diagnosis just like yours and that's what I'm praying for you.
