How marvelous our Heavenly Father is in such hard times!
This might be my last post on my dad's blog because...drum roll please- HE'S HOME!
Yes, I know, it's amazing. He's home and here to stay...at least till another surgery.
Yesterday he was drinking a lot of liquids and ice cream. He had some creamy soup and grape juice. All in all, he's doing real well. He probably won't be able to eat real solid food for about a month though. He's in pain though, and he's getting the chills really bad so pray that he doesn't suffer too much more. There's not much else to say, just keep praying for his recovery. Thanks so much for your love and support. Every day at the hospital, I would read my dad the comments you've written on his blog and on Facebook, so he definitely feels loved. I promise.

Glad you could home--to better food and quieter surroundings. It's so hard to sleep in the hospital.
Take care.

Hooray for HOME!! Praying for your pain to abate, for strength to quickly build, and for those nasty, unpleasant post-surgery chills to GO AWAY.
Sending much love--

Blogging runs in your family! We have really appreciated Jollette's news and have read it each time . . . it's a great way to let us know what's going on and how to pray specifically. David, Jim prayed for you tonight so we are expectantly waiting God's perfect result!
Love to all of you from both of us . . .

Joining my friend Mark, David was prayed for at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church in California today, and here, is the first of what will undoubtedly be many answers to those prayers.

I hesitate to post a comment, since all your troubles seemed to start right after I linked to your blog from mine and posted a few comments here. (I'm not superstitious - just a little paranoid.) I mean, I know I'm not exactly good luck (just ask the NY Jets), but that would be crazy.
I've been praying for you and your family. May the Lord bless you all during this time of stress and illness. And may you make a full and speedy recovery.
Many thanks to your lovely daughter for keeping us all up-to-date.

Hi there. I stumbled on this blog and specifically the news regarding yoru dad's cancer via challies.com. Your news struck me because my mom recently battled colon cancer that had metasticized to her liver. This will be a hard, ugly battle for you and your family. Know that I will be praying for you. You and your family are very near to my heart right now, even though I don't know you.
If I could just share a few things that helped me with my mom's illness...
Remember Psalm 139. God knew this day was coming when he formed your dad. He knew exactly what you'd be going through emotionally as you watch your dad battle this cancer. He loves you and your dad more than you can imagine and this horrid, nasty cancer CAN be used to glorify him.
I don't mean any of that to sound preachy, I just know what you are going through.

Thank you, Lord.
He cups you close...

David,
I'm glad to hear that you are home. Sorry to hear that you have the chills and not feeling that great. Sounds like a long recovery. Get well soon. I'm praying that way.

I don't know you but I've heard plenty about your father from blogs. I want you to know I'm praying for you, your father and his family. I lost my father to lung cancer in 2005. It was a 1.5 year battle. Hang in there. God loves you.
