I'm travelling this weekend, hence the lack of posting. I'm in Jacksonville, FL attending retirement ceremonies for my old pastor and boss, and current mentor, friend and father in the faith, Rod Whited. He is retiring after 24 years of service to Pinewood Presbyterian Church in Middleburg, FL. After this I'll do a repost of an article I wrote in thanks to him.
For now I wanted to share a pic my wife took in the Atlanta airport yesterday. I got the biggest kick out of this - it's from the "what'll they think of next" department. It's a vending machine where you can buy Ipods and accessories. They had the Ipod Mini and Ipod Shuffle and all kinds of accessories. Wow! What's next?
I saw a Bose Wave Radio vending machine in the Minn/St. Paul airport last year. Needless to say, I took a double take.

I'd rather have the iPod one than the Bose one we have/had in Minneapolis/St. Paul. I also saw the Bose one, and initially thought it was a gimmick of some sort. Spending hundreds of dollars in a vending machine just doesn't seem right to me.

Forgive me for being off topic but I want to know what people think the Jollyblogger should wear in the pulpit.
Come vote on my poll.

I remember seeing this machine when I was in Atlanta. There was also in another concourse a "prepaid cellphone' machine where you could buy a cellphone with prepaid minutes.

That is amazing! In saying that, I'm probably showing what a hayseed I really am. But I still find it amazing.

Yep, I posted a pic of Atlanta's ipod vending machine about a month ago (Totem and I saw the same one)

You can use ANY credit card to purchase with. As well as it has a good touch screen interface that will also make "up-sell" recommendations (e.g. when buying an ipod shuffle, it asks if you want a set of better headphones that "happen" to be in the vending machine)

I don't suppose it has a port on it somewhere to charge the iPod? or the ability to preload it with music to listen to on the flight?

I saw it in atlanta back in June.. who know's how long it was there before that.

Nice to see another Jolly running about! My brother got a photo of it flying back to ATL earlier this summer. This vending machine of goodness was installed late-May-ish probably, 'cause surely me or any of my buddies would have noticed it before then. We're all suckers for 300-dollar impulse buys.

I saw one of the ipod vending machines in a hotel in Dublin, CA when I stayed there following my best friends wedding.

When I stayed at the Santa Clara, CA Hilton in April I noticed one in their lobby. It was a little odd to me. Then I noticed it here, and thought that maybe I wasn't so crazy after all.
