Great Consumer Tip - Magazine Subscriptions on ebay

Here's a great consumer tip I got from the book Rule the Web (see the blog of the same title here).  You can get magazine subscriptions at ridiculously low prices on ebay.  You can only get the popular magazines that make their money from advertising.  I had a little mad money in my paypal account so I subscribed to the following.

1. Sporting News - three years (it's a weekly so that's 180 issues - must have some bonus issues) for $7.95. I read Sports Illustrated for Rick Reilly and the football season coverage.  I read Sporting News for some of the more detailed info.

2. Wired - three years for $9.99

3. PC Magazine and Maximum PC - three years for $14.99

4. Men's Journal - three years for $4.94. I have this fantasy that some day I'm going to turn into this real outdoorsy kind of guy.  So far it hasn't happened but between playing on the computer and watching TV I can read Men's Journal and think how it must feel to be an outdoorsy kind of guy - that counts for something doesn't it?

So, basically I got three year subscriptions to five different magazines for about $38.00.  Of course we'll see how it all pans out but I did check it out and this appears legit.  I'll let you know if I got suckered on these things.

Just thought you might be interested in this if you like popular magazines.
