If the World Doesn't End, I'll See You in a Couple of Weeks
Well, it's that time of year again - time for the annual family vacation. This year is a little different since we seem to be leaving on the eve of Armageddon, (HT - Andy Jackson) which could make the return trip home a little dicey.
I guess I need to get my head out of the sand or something but I have completely missed out on the latest end of the world scenario. I am aware of the conflicts in the middle east and few days ago a friend of mine asked if I knew of anyone who was writing about them and explaining that this was not the end of the world. I couldn't think of anyone, and in fact I must be reading the wrong stuff, because until I followed the above link from Smart Christian I didn't know anyone was creating a TEOTWAWKI scenario. Silly me, I should have seen it coming.
Of course my hope and prayer is that Jesus will come and will come soon, but I long ago grew weary of those who saw fulfillment of prophecy in everything that happened in the Middle East. Since I don't have time to write more on this I just want to ask that everyone please, please, please, pretty please with sugar on top, please read the Knox Seminary Open Letter to Evangelicals before getting too caught up in all of the end times stuff.
And, though I would much rather meet you all face to face in the new heavens and new earth within the next few weeks I do plan on meeting you again online in a couple of weeks when I get back from vacation.
Over the last couple of days I did do a few "post-aheads" so the blog won't be totally dead. And, if any of the relatives we are visiting have a wireless connection I may get to a little posting while I'm gone. Otherwise, I'll catch up with you all soon.
