Oops - wasn't quite finished with this and forgot I had set it to post this evening
Funnest and funniest meme I have seen in awhile. I got this from Jared at the Thinklings and he got it from Marla at Always Thirsty.
BTW, personal note to both - Jared - congrats on the new book, for all of you who haven't read Thinklings Jared has a novel coming out and he's getting some great reviews from folks who have proofed it. Update - I'm confusing people with that sentence - the book isn't out yet, he's still shopping it. but he has completed it and a few of his friends have given him some good feedback.
Marla - I'll get on your retro/metro thing some day, I think I'm remetro, or is it meretro.
OK, now back to the meme - here is what you are supposed to do:
Type “[your first name] needs” into Google’s search engine and list the first ten results. Nearly all will be amusing, but you’re supposed to underline the ones that are actually true about you.
Here is what I got:
1. David is in serious need of a bath.
2. It's Tony's love that David needs most.
3. David needs your help.
4. David needs your prayers.
5. David needs to roar with pride.
6. David needs to become more tolerant, especially of emotions.
7. David needs a student.
8. David needs to be able to do this work independently.
9. David needs a computer.
10. David needs a wash.
Looks like we've got a theme here of me needing a bath, which is
funny because I'm pretty near OCD about cleanliness. I take two
showers a day and wash my hands all the time. It's so bad that, in the
winter when I wash the oils off of my hands they are continually
cracking. I'm constantly having to get lotion from my wife and
secretary.
I definitely need help and prayers, I roar with pride upon awakening
every morning, Tony can keep his love to himself thank you very much, I
don't need no stinkin emotions, I've already got students, and I'm
already too independent for my own good. I definitely need a new
computer, so if anyone wants to donate a new Powerbook I'll take it. I
got a new HP laptop and am ruing the day - and of course I waited till
after the refund date so now I'm stuck with it.

I wish it was coming out.
I have turned it into my agent, but he hasn't begun showing it to publishers yet.
I appreciate the encouragement, though. I'm going to pretend like you're psychic for the rest of the week, just to temper my doubts. ;-)

Gasp! You had me going, David. I thought, "Wait-just-a-ding0dang-minute! Jared's book is published and I haven't read about it yet. I'm not worthy to be a lit-blogger."
I can breathe a bit easier now. It will be good too, you wait.

David, I've been getting a lot of that (retrometrical, metaretro, etc.). But the labels are sticking in some other places--Three Fat Triplets asked if they could use it for some upcoming fun and games, so as "the meme" spreads, every blogger will be forced to own up to his his or her true retro or metro self ;)

I have watched this meme circling Christian blogville and stand ready to share with the rest of you. My needs are supplied, with some left over.
