Silliness

After a long weekend in which I have been travelling and have been sick for three days, the ol' brain isn't quite in gear yet.  So, how 'bout we start the week with a bit of silliness?  Maybe later today or tomorrow I'll have something coherent to say.

I'm being polled - yep, there are two polls going around now that feature yours truly.  I'm a finalist in the GodBlogCon Guy Beauty Contest over at Writing Right.  This cracks me up.  I'm going in against Aaron "A Ready Defense" Pina.  My people tell me that they are hot on the trail of some scandalous pics taken of Aaron from back in his student days (oh wait, he's still a student, hmm), and once they are made public, the title will be all mine.

And of course, every beauty contestant needs a wardrobe.  So, you can vote for what kind of fashion statements I should be making in the pulpit on Sunday mornings by taking Terry Pruitt's poll.  So far, the public thinks I should wear either what my wife decides I should wear or a liturgical robe.  Thankfully, my wife will not decide I should wear a liturgical robe, of that I am sure.  There appears to be backlash against the Rick Warren Hawaiian shirt look, which no one is voting for.  I'm very disappointed to see that, so far, no one wants me to wear my Gator shirt into the pulpit.  Oh well, if you have nothing better to do (and if you have nothing better to do then you've got a problem) go over and cast your vote.

And finally, Byron over at A Ticking Time Blog has a post called The Way it is With Us Guys.  Ladies, trust me on this one - everything you have ever wanted to know or ever will want to know about a man is contained in that post.  You can throw away all the books, tapes, CD's, DVD's and seminar notes you have ever acquired on the theme of "understanding the man in your life."  This post has all you will ever need - read it, memorize it, live it . . .
