Your wife, who usually tells you to get off the computer, quit blogging and come to bed, says "honey, you haven't blogged in three days." Then when it's the fourth day and you still haven't blogged she says "you better blog something, there are people out there expecting something from you." So I say to her "who are you and what have you done with my wife."
Seriously though, I have had a few people ask me where I've been and express some concern about why I haven't been blogging. And, before I address that I will acknowledge those out there who say that bloggers are all so narcissistic that when they don't have anything to say they have to say something about themselves. That may be true in my case, but I thought I should at least address a few folks who have asked about me.
Everything is fine - the pace of life has just picked up quite a bit - lots of meetings and counseling at the church and we had our annual congregational meeting tonight at the church, so there's been lots to do. And, with it being Valentine's week and all, I have decided to try and be a decent husband for at least a few days and have watched two chick flicks at home with my wife this week and have actually taken my wife out on two, yes that's right, two dates this week (yes, I typed that last sentence with one hand while patting myself on the back with the other). We went to see Hitch last night and it was hilarious - definitely one of my favorite movies in quite some time. I'm sure I'll go back to being the lousy husband I usually am come Tuesday.
Hopefully, I'll get back in the swing of blogging this week. A couple of people have told me they are praying for me and I appreciate that, and if you think to pray for me what I would ask for is prayers for wisdom in pastoral ministry. My own health is fine, but I'm dealing with some real spiritual dis-ease in the church these days, having encountered some very difficult pastoral and counseling issues lately. So any prayers you could offer in that regard would be appreciated.
Other than that I'll be blogging with you soon - God bless.
